I love looking at the bigger picture and how everything thing fits together.

Yes, there are many opportunities in corporate and practice.
What qualities should South African business people be looking for in their accountant
Accountants should be honest, have attention to detail and be professional.
What is the biggest challenge facing accountants today?
A lot of people are trying to assist clients and they are not registered, which gives a bad name to accountants that are registered.
What aspects of accounting do you focus on most?
The entire accounting function from monthly bookkeeping, financial statements and tax.
Describe your average client:
Small business owners that need full-function accounting. Also, the individual that just needs tax advice.
How far away from your premises is your furthest client?
I am based in Rayton and my furthest client is in St Francis.
From your accounting experience, if you could cite one of the biggest reasons SME's in SA fail, what would it be?
There is a lot of "red tape" in operating a business and accountants are able to assist their clients in navigating the process.
What accounting software do you like best?
I make use of Sage, QuickBooks Online and Xero accounting.

Do you think the coming wave of automation in the next few years will steal some accounting jobs and why/why not?
No, there is still a good amount of input, advice and knowledge needed from accountants.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Having time with my family.

Travelling abroad
