Yes. I thought for a while that law would be more interesting, but realised very quickly that I should stick with numbers

I mostly go to my clients

Love to make sense out of numbers... so you can see the story they are telling
Would you recommend accounting as a career for school-leavers, and why?
Definitely. It is a very diverse field, with so much opportunities
What qualities should South African business people be looking for in their accountant?
Someone that can think on their feet, improvise and who is solution-driven
What is the biggest challenge facing accountants today?
To save as much on tax as possible for their clients, but still keep your professional integrity intact
What aspects of accounting do you focus on most?
On Financial management, and to help business owners to understand their business and its financial situation.

Small companies with between 3-50 staff, turnover of R 1 million to R 10 million monthly
How far away from your premises is your furthest client?
Nelspruit
From your accounting experience, if you could cite one of the biggest reasons SME's in SA fail, what would it be?
Business owners confuse money in the bank with profit...they do not understand their business profitability.
What accounting software do you like best?
Sage one, Pastel, SAP
What other software, online services or apps do you use?
Mostly work on Sage One
Do you think the coming wave of automation in the next few years will steal some accounting jobs and why/why not?
No. You always need a professional to interpret numbers and give advice
What is your opinion on Bitcoin?
I don't have Bitcoin....
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Reading, spending time with my family, cycling
What is the most interesting thing on your bucket list?
I want to walk the Camino with my husband
