Yes as I was good at Accountancy and Maths at School


When meeting with clients do they mostly come to your own premises or do you mostly go theirs?

I mostly go to my clients

Email, Face to Face, WhatsApp

No


What do you love most about accounting?

enjoy the numbers and the feedback on the numbers


Would you recommend accounting as a career for school-leavers, and why?

If you are numbers literate then yes as it can give a really good career, especially being a chartered accountant.


What qualities should South African business people be looking for in their accountant?

Integrity, adding value and most important build a good long term relationship with the accountant


What is the biggest challenge facing accountants today?

Impartial attitude and view and the corruption


What aspects of accounting do you focus on most?

Look at the numbers as the numbers don't lie.


Describe your average client:

The average client will be the tax clients as well as the small business clients


How far away from your premises is your furthest client?

All over South Africa


From your accounting experience, if you could cite one of the biggest reasons SME's in SA fail, what would it be?

Spend more or too much than the revenue as the numbers don't lie.


What accounting software do you like best?

Pastel and Quickbooks


What other software, online services or apps do you use?

Draftworx


Do you think the coming wave of automation in the next few years will steal some accounting jobs and why/why not?

It will help but can never steal the accounting jobs completely as you always need the debtors or the creditor's clerk as well as a financial manager to oversee the accounting aspect.


What is your opinion on Bitcoin?

It depends on the belief of the person in Bitcoin.


What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Golf, gym and reading books to improve myself and being the best version of myself.


What is the most interesting thing on your bucket list?

The secret of abundance living in this universe.
